This week is crazy, as the last week of October always is. Trick or Treat, Julianna's birthday, and she's turning 10 (10! How did that happen?), so it will tend to go on and on a little more than usual, plus Rebekah coming in to help celebrate. Full of wonderful things.
I'm praying we do not experience massive power outtages and that this storm ends up being much milder than it's looking.
Stay safe everyone.
Monday (scouts, piano): Maple-brined pork chops, acorn squash, brussels sprouts
chili baked potatoes--piano
Tuesday (sax, dance): Salmon patties, noodles, peas, dinner rolls
Wednesday (trick or treat): spaghetti w/ meatballs
Thursday (Junie’s Bday!): bat brownies
ribs, mac & cheese, cole slaw, green beans
Friday (Rebekah!): Martha Stewart Meatloaf or Cap City Diner Meatloaf, yukon gold mashed potatoes, glazed carrots [We recently went out to dinner and Mark ordered the meatloaf. Yes, he does that, personally, I can not even imagine. Surprisingly, this was an incredible meatloaf, quite possibly the best I have ever had. It was very...different. The texture was amazing. I'm not sure if I'm going to follow the recipe exactly, it has loads and loads of shitake mushrooms which I'm sure my children (all four of them) would be convinced would kill them. Still, I can not forget that meatloaf. I think I will probably combine recipes a bit, (yes, adult child, leaving out the mushrooms) but bake it in a water bath. I'm pretty sure the water bath is the key to the sublime texture. Have you ever baked a meatloaf in a water bath?]
Saturday lunch:
Saturday dinner: noodle pudding, oven fried chicken, autumn salad, squash
devil’s food cake w/choc icing and bday party ice cream

Noodle pudding? Recipe, please! :)
Do you still have power? Hope you're all okay! That was a BAD storm.
I'm intrigued with the meat loaf. My hubby does that too, orders meat loaf at restaurants sometimes. Hope you guys made it safe and dry through the storm!
